Roya Rahmanpour

Roya Rahmanpour regularly represents clients in matters involving patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, entertainment, false advertising, business torts, unfair competition, and commercial disputes in both state and federal courts. She has worked with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries including entertainment, telecommunications, technology, alcohol & beverage, medical device, and pharmaceuticals.

Roya has extensive experience handling discovery, including spearheading written discovery, taking and defending depositions, engaging in motion practice for discovery disputes, and conducting ESI and third-party discovery. She has served as second chair and lead counsel in numerous bench and jury trials and has successfully negotiated mediations and settlement conferences to secure favorable results.

Representative Experience

• Represented legendary musician in trademark dispute over band name for music group inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and secured favorable settlement
• Obtained early dismissal of patent infringement action on behalf of major car manufacturer by invalidating patent at motion to dismiss stage
• Obtained approximately $4 million judgment and $5 million for attorneys’ fees in trademark infringement action for client children’s vitamin manufacturer
• Defended patents for Fortune 100 and other companies in post-grant proceedings before the USPTO
• Achieved $21+ million summary judgment for a client in a contract case
• Secured a $17+ million settlement in an antitrust case
